Submit a Nomination for the 10 Under 40 Honors Program

ASC Focus magazine will feature 10 ASC leaders under the age of 40 in its October issue. We welcome you to nominate your exemplary colleague, report or supervisor who has made a measurable impact at your facility and/or in the ASC community in the past 12 months. Your nominee could be a physician whose mentorship inspired their team to go above and beyond; an administrator who came up with a brilliant plan to communicate effectively with their diverse patient population; an RN whose bedside manners never fail to put a smile on your patients' faces; a revenue person whose business strategies made a considerable difference in your ASC's bottom line; an IT person who foresaw a cyberattack and saved your ASC from losing revenue; or anyone else in your surgery center whom you see as a shining star.

Rules and Eligibility

The 10 Under 40 Honors program recognizes professionals under the age of 40 who contribute to the advancement of the ASC community. To be eligible, you must be under the age of 40 as of December 31, 2026. Nominees must work in an ASCA member facility; the nomination process is free of charge.

Judging Criteria

Nominations will be reviewed and judged based on the following criteria:

  • Specific actions the nominee took in the past year to help their facility achieve or exceed financial, operational, clinical or charity goals
  • Specific actions the nominee took in the past year to influence the ASC community as a whole

What is the award?

The 10 Under 40 Honors award recognizes outstanding ASC leaders under the age of 40 who have made a measurable impact within their facility and/or the ASC community over the past year. Honorees will be featured in the October issue of ASC Focus magazine, celebrating their achievements and contributions to advancing excellence in the ASC community.

What is the deadline for submission?

Nominations for 10 Under 40 Honors will close Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 11:59 pm ET.

Do you need to be an ASCA member to nominate someone or to be a nominee/winner?

Anyone can submit a nomination, but nominees must be an ASCA member or work in a member facility.

Can I nominate more than one person from my organization?

Yes, you may nominate multiple individuals from your organization. Each nomination requires a separate submission.

Will multiple nominations for the same person influence the selection process?

No.

Is there a limit to the number of nominations I can submit?

No.

Can people nominate themselves?

Yes, self-nominations are accepted.

By what date does someone need to be "under 40"?

To be eligible, you must be under the age of 40 as of December 31, 2026.

Who selects the honorees for this program?

A panel of judges comprising experts from the ASC community will select the honorees. Each judge has extensive experience and deep expertise in the field.

Will I be notified if the person I nominated is not selected as an honoree?

No, only the honorees will be notified.

Will the honorees be notified?

Yes, the honorees will be notified in the middle of May 2026.

When will the honorees be announced?

Honorees will be featured online and in the ASC Focus magazine in October.
